You can help save Missouri horse farmers and ranchers
HB 1747 Requires establishments processing or selling horse meat for human consumption to annually register and affirms the right to raise domestic animals, fish, and game birds in a humane manner.
The bill does not cost Missourians, as the fees for inspection will be paid by the processing plants.
The bill MANDATES humane treatment of the animals and inspections by the state.
This bill passed the MO house and is poised to be presented to the Missouri Senate in 2010. This bill would help restore the balance of the cycle of life and some sanity to the equestrian market.

Why would anyone want to have the "option" "choice" to humanely put down livestock (horses) and use the meat instead of waiting for it to drop and burying it in a landfill?
